I have been involved with
dogs my whole life, joining my first kennel club when I was
17; I began showing Dobermans in breed and obedience. I got
my first mastiff in 1984, and opened a grooming shop called
"Hair of the Dog" in 1994 . It has always been a tradition
that that every dog leaves with a rawhide lollypop. In the
fall of 1996, we ran out and I resorted to baking pumpkin
spice cookies, so that the dogs would have a treat when they
left. To my surprise, the feedback I received from people
who had finicky pets who loved the cookies, was more than I
imagined. And from there, Jagger's Doggy Deli was born!
Named after my one very
special English Mastiff-- Am/Can. CH. Fantasy's Sparks Will
Fly CGC, TDI aka "Jagger", we began carrying homemade
cookies in the shop, and began traveling to dog shows not
only to compete, but to vend as well. Jagger was my
soul-dog...I lost him this year at almost 10 yrs old, but he
remains the figurehead, the C.E.O. (Chief Eating Officer) of
this company, wih Raven -CH. Gloribee Fantasy Back in Black
CGC at his side as "head cookie inspector. " Jagger and
Raven have both gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but they will
never be forgotten. The rest of the Fantasy Mastiff
crew will carry on the details of inspecting cookies, making
suggestions, and their favorite job of taste-testing! Me? I
am just chief cook, baker, and bottle-washer.
All of our treats are
home-made and hand-rolled from human-grade ingredients. They
have a shelf-life of 3 months if kept in an open container
and allowed to breathe. No preservatives are added, except
holistic methods of extract of rosemary, Vit C & Vit E, and
a very long baking time to remove the moisture from the
cookie.
We believe solid
nutrition is the key to a healthy pet and these treats were
formulated with that in mind. All of our treats are first
tested on our own dogs since 1996.
